No, you do not get paid. A traineeship is a free work placement programme where you gain the necessary skills and knowledge to progress in to an Apprenticeship or a job role. Here at Urban Angels, we guarantee you an interview on completion of your Traineeship, for the possibility of progressing onto an Apprenticeship with us.

The number of hours completed each week may vary, however a minimum of 70 hours must be covered in your course.

As we are an online education provider, access to a computer/laptop/tablet is required. We use the APTEM cloud based system to access, upload and share all information. Once you have been accepted onto the programme, we will provide you with your own credentials to access the APTEM system and begin your journey on your chosen course.
 

Apprentices should work for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a maximum of 40 hours per week. You will also be granted 20% of your paid working hours each week to be able to complete your teaching sessions and assignments. If you feel you are being mismanaged or treated unfairly, please do not hesitate to contact us for further help and support.

No, with Urban Angels you do not have to attend a college. We provide experienced tutors/assessors who support you with our APTEM cloud-based system, meaning that learners are not confined to a classroom environment. This allows more autonomy and flexibility around when you study and develop your practical skills in your chosen organisation.  

Do not worry, if for any reason you do not obtain your predicted results or cannot provide proof of exemption, we will do everything we can to help. Our dedicated staff will help you to obtain the equivalent grades in Functional Skills alongside your course. 

(Please note that you are exempt from Functional Skills if you have a C or above in Maths and English or the equivalent level 2 in Function Skills.)

You must legally pay your Apprentice national minimum wage for their age group. It is up to you if you would like to pay the apprentice more than NMW. Please see the link for full details and note that the NMW is subject to change in April of every year.

When taking on an Apprentice, you must agree to allow them a minimum of 20% of their paid hours to complete their Apprenticeship. This is a legal requirement from the government in order to draw down funding.

Yes. As part of taking on an Apprentice you will receive a lump sum incentive payment. 

No, you do not have to pay a Trainee. The purpose of a trainee is to provide a suitable workplace environment where they can provide additional help and support free of charge, whilst learning in a work based setting.

No. Unlike the Apprenticeship you are not given an incentive for taking on a Trainee. However, this will provide you with free additional help, as well as be able to assess if hiring an Apprentice will be right for your business.

Our APTEM system is accessible from home and is easy to use. With the credentials provided to your child, you are able to access the system and see their progress yourself from the comfort of your own home.
